St Jeanne des Abattoirs de Bertolt Brecht
par Collectif Cinquième Quartier
1920 in Corned Beef Country in the Chicago Yards. There was Jeanne Dark, Mauler, the king of meat, meat manufacturers, Salvation Army evangelists calling themselves the Black Hats, workers, a weeping widow, communists, a broker named Slift, a landowner named Mulberry, an army of poor people, detectives, all chained up in a farandole dance.
She was lieutenant of the Black Hats, and armed with her faith she went, slaying the puppets of capitalism, to attack Social Progress.
There were soaring meat prices and plucked buyers. Once again there was a swelling financial bubble swelling under the breath of speculators.

Premiering in July 2019 at the John Mcintosh Arts Centre in Fulham, London, Ensemble OrQuesta's production of Handel's classic Alcina will be performed in September 2021 at Théâtre Basse Passière.
Featuring a dynamic mix of musical talents from Ensemble OrQuesta, the show will feature a Harpsichord, Lute, two Violins and a Cello, to fully capture the magic of Handel's much revered classic.
Given a modern adaptation with an underlining theme of sexual harassment in the work place, it follows a minimalistic style, typical of most of Ensemble OrQuesta's productions, and will be conducted by internationally renowned conductor Marcio da Silva. The performers will be from the company's most experienced members, including Helen May in the title role. Casting for the remainder of the show is still to be finalised.
